Background

 

Thank you for visiting my tutoring website. My name is Maria Tandon and I am a Learning Specialist and a mother. Helping children learn is my passion! I enjoy working with children of all abilities, but my expertise tutoring students who have special needs sets me apart from other tutors. I have worked with students with learning differences, dyslexia, autism, anxiety, and attention deficit disorder (A.D.D./A.D.H.D.). 

 

Equipped with more than 15 years of experience working with children, combined with a bachelor's degree (B.A.) in psychology from Wake Forest University, and masters of education (M.Ed.) and education specialist (Ed.S.) degree in school psychology from University of Cincinnati, I have a strong foundation in effective learning and motivation strategies. 

 

For the past 9 years, I have provided high quality private tutoring services for students in the Cleveland, Dallas, Atlanta, and Cincinnati areas. I have worked with students who attend public schools, parochial schools, as well as private schools, and schools specializing in serving students with learning differences.

Cleveland and Beyond

 

In August 2021, my family and I moved to Cleveland. We are happy to call it  home. My husband enjoys improving the health of children with heart problems at Cleveland Clinic Children's and I enjoy helping kids become confident and successful learners. Prior to our move back to Ohio, we lived in Dallas, where I worked with students from prestigious schools such as: The Lamplighter School, The Hockaday School, Parish Episcopal School, and The Episcopal School of Dallas. I am excited to plant new roots in Cleveland and serve families in this beautiful city. So far, I have had the opportunity to work with students who attend school at: Orange, Beachwood, Solon, Shaker Heights, and Hathaway Brown.

COVID-19 Update

​

Keeping everyone safe and healthy are priorities. My husband, children, and I are fully vaccinated. As of August 2022, tutoring services are available at local libraries, schools, in homes, and online using Zoom. I am able to work with students who live locally as well as across the country.
